The appearance of small fawns

We have an addition. Two small fawns were born.

The beginning of calving in deer falls on the first days of April, the bulk calves in May.

The latest ones are in early June. Here we have at the Hanaway Base. It's time for the venison to calf Yatoma. Several hours have passed since the beginning of labor, and she still can't calve, gets up, walks and lies down.

The calf only has legs visible. I decided to help it, otherwise it wouldn't be able to cope on its own. Armed with everything that is needed for the process, I went to help the calf Yatoma. It usually doesn't let anyone get close to it, but now it lies still, understands that help has come to it. I helped the fawn to calve, cleaned its nose and mouth, let it lick himself further.

I started collecting supplies for help, and I see that the water has gone away again, and small legs are still visible. After a while we had another little fawn. The mother of the fawn and the fawns are feeling well, resting and gaining strength. Not an experienced mother will have a hard time with them. The appearance of two fawns at once is a very rare event. Reindeer herders say one that is weaker can throw. We will make every effort to ensure that our kids are healthy and grow up.

Daughter-in-law Lilya helped out with a bottle and mixtures. Grandson Kostya no longer eats, but the fawn is just right.

They made a bottle of the mixture upon arrival with their son Pavel and went to feed. Feeding of fawns takes place every 3-5 hours with a mixture from a bottle until it grows up. Masha and I have four children, that's another couple. After all, feeding a fawn is like tinkering with a child, time and patience are needed.

Daughter Sofia asked to name the fawn "Northern" if a boy is born, and the girl "Radiance". Now we have our own personal "Northern Lights". Oh, I hope we have enough strength and time to grow them. There is an opinion that it is impossible to take photos and videos while the fawns are small. But I hope everything will be fine. They appeared with us on June 1.

On Children's Day, on the same day, my wife Maria and I celebrated 26 years of living together. I think it's a sign and a gift to us. Thank you for being with us.
