Many centuries ago, all the tribes living both around and on other lands gathered on the mountain "Mokhnatka" at this time. We celebrated this holiday for many days, people shared their acquired skills and experience with each other. We bought and exchanged the skin of sea animals, material for sleds (sleds) and raw-hide tents (reindeer herders' dwellings), as well as clothing, furs and deer. They bought goods that were very rare in those days, such as harness, salt, sugar and spices. They also found wives and husbands here, and performed rituals. Nowadays, reindeer husbandry has begun to fade into oblivion. Young people do not go to work in reindeer husbandry, there are no housewives in the raw-hide tent, and where are we without women? Without their home?
The recreation center "Hanaway Xia" together with the company "Na Ray" (Olga Vyucheyskaya) and the travel agency "Krasny Gorod" decided to create an annual ethno festival "Big Sun Day".
